Goal:
Capture all opponent pieces or leave the opponent with no legal moves.
Board:
Checkers is played on an 8×8 board, but only the dark squares are used for movement.
Basic movement:
Regular pieces move diagonally by one square. Kings can move diagonally in every allowed direction.
Capturing:
Capture an opponent piece by jumping over it diagonally into an empty square. If a capture is available, it is mandatory.
Chain captures:
If the same piece can capture again after a jump, you must continue capturing with that piece in the same turn.
King promotion:
When a regular piece reaches the last row on the opponent’s side, it becomes a king and gains more movement freedom.
Winning strategy:
Control the center, protect your advanced pieces, and avoid giving the AI easy multi-captures.
Think ahead:
A strong move is not only about taking a piece now. It is also about preventing a better counterattack on the next turn.
Tip:
Do not rush to attack with every piece. Sometimes a defensive move or a quiet setup move creates a much stronger position.
